Harley-Davidson has just released their 2017 line of motorcycles. The new product line was unveiled this morning at the Motor Company’s annual dealer meeting, this year held in Boston.
The center piece of the unveil is the new Big Twin Engine, the Milwaukee Eight©. It boasts 8 valves, 4 per head, giving it 50% more flow then the previous, 2 valve heads. These valves are operated with a single
cam. The Motor Company claims this motor has 10% more torque, better fuel mileage and quicker throttle response then previous models. Standard Touring bikes have the 107″ version of the motor, while the CVO line will carry the 114″ motor, claimed to put out 124 foot pounds of torque. The 2017 CVO models are the Breakout, the Streetglide, and the Ultra Limited.
The new model bikes are supplemented with several new accessories as well as a completely revamped Screamin’ Eagle performance line, including a 117″ Milwaukee 8 performance kit. Look for a feature on these new products in the coming days.
As the heavyweight motorcycle market gets increasingly competitive it’s clear Harley-Davidson is willing to adapt and innovate in an effort to hold onto it’s share.
