Last Spring Harley-Davidson released the Screamin’ Eagle Breakout®, the latest version of the wide tire Softail. The bike was part of a factory custom “blacked out” line that also included the new Dyna Low Rider S®. I have to admit I’ve never been a fan of long, low wide tire, pro-street bikes but something about this one keeps catching my eye.
In my opinion, the Motor Company has never released a bike with more attention to detail. Small things like the thumb screw and seat mounting posts are blacked out and only available on this bike. It has custom finished handlebars and heat shields that are not chrome or polished but finished in a nickel colored high temp finish. The CVO Breakout also has a two piece seat that gives you the option of a solo seat or a two-up passenger seat.
Almost every piece of this bike is powder coated black. The engine covers, the primary and transmission covers, the axle covers, wheels, belt guard and front end all got the black powder coat treatment.
These features all make this a great looking bike that performs great. The CVO Breakout features a 110 inch motor, a hydraulic clutch, and an all new inverted front end with a low profile mini-fairing.
The 2016 CVO Breakout is available in black with a red accent stripe or white and black two-tone. Due to limited availability and unique styling, I expect these bikes to be hard to come by for the foreseeable future.
